About Us

Our
Story

Since 1982, the Institute of BioAcoustic Biology and Sound Health has been dedicated to advancing the understanding of the relationship between sound and human wellness through research, education and innovation.

Founded by Sharry Edwards, pioneer of BioAcoustic Biology, our Institute explores how the human voice reflects patterns associated with the body's structural and biochemical function.

Through voice analysis and frequency-based technologies, we continue to develop and refine non-invasive methods that support health assessment, education and ongoing research.

Our mission is to expand scientific knowledge, provide high-quality practitioner training and make innovative educational resources available to individuals and professionals worldwide. By combining decades of research with emerging technologies, we remain committed to advancing the field of BioAcoustic Biology and helping shape the future of sound-based wellness education.

About Sharry Edwards™

Sharry Edwards, MEd, is the founder of Sound Health and the pioneer of BioAcoustic Biology. With a background in education and more than four decades of research,

she has dedicated her career to exploring the

relationship between the human voice, sound and

frequency patterns.

Edwards developed BioAcoustic Biology, an

educational discipline that investigates vocal

characteristics and Frequency Equivalents™ to better understand individual form, function and

communication. Her work integrates research,

advanced software and innovative technologies to

study the unique information contained within the

human voice while expanding educational

opportunities in the field.

In 2021, Edwards was honored as Scientist of the Year

in recognition of her groundbreaking research, innovation and lifelong contributions to BioAcoustic Biology. Her pioneering work has led to the development of educational programs, voice-analysis technologies and practitioner training that have inspired students and professionals around the world.

Today, Sharry continues to lead research and educational initiatives through the Institute of BioAcoustic Biology and Sound Health. She remains actively involved in developing new BioAcoustic technologies, mentoring practitioners and expanding educational resources that support continued exploration of the relationship between voice, frequency and human potential.

Her vision has helped establish one of the world's longest-running organizations dedicated to the study of BioAcoustic Biology, creating a lasting legacy of innovation, education and discovery.
